  20.     This BBS archive (named DBATE###.ZIP or DBATE###.SDN depending on the BBS
  21. source you've obtained it from) contains five or more files: READ.ME;
  22. DBATE###.TXT (the beginning of the actual magazine), SI_MISC.TXT (about
  23. ShareDebate International), SEE.EXE (a 3rd party freeware file reading/print
  24. program), AMAZE.TXT (more about this below), plus additional files introduced
  25. and listed in the DBATE###.TXT file.  Sysops, PLEASE DO NOT reZIP or alter the
  26. ZIP or SDN file that contains these files.  It is authenticated-protected
  27. (PKUNZIP 2.04g is needed for ZIP, ARJ 2.41 is needed for SDN).  The freeware
  28. distribution terms of this copyrighted magazine are provided in SI_MISC.TXT in
  29. the ZIP file.

  31.     After extracting with PKUNZIP or ARJ the ZIP or SDN containing the above
  32. files, type:  SEE & press ENTER to get a list of files to read.  To read any &
  33. all of the files, highlight the file with your cursor and press ENTER.  To
  34. print any desired file, press "C" while reading the file.

  36.     Last, if you received this on a diskette and if there is space, there may
  37. be added to this diskette, file(s) spelled IMPR*.ZIP.  This is a collection of
  38. the freeware magazine, Imprimis - On Line, that Applied Foresight also
  39. publishes.  Imprimis is not connected with ShareDebate International however.
  40. Unzip this ZIP file in a newly made directory on your hard disk.  If you don't
  41. have PKUNZIP.EXE, use UNZIP.EXE that would also be on the disk (along with
  42. instructions which can be read by typing:   SEE UNZIP.DOC   or typing:
  43. MORE <UNZIP.DOC   (if this is your first issue). (UNZIP is not in the BBS-file
  44. distributed version.)

  46.     Some users don't like reading lengthy items online.  They would rather
  47. print them out.  And if they have a laser printer or ink-jet printer, they
  48. would like to use common shareware programs that will format them two "pages"
  49. to a side of paper (in landscape mode) and print on both sides, achieving 4
  50. pages to a sheet of paper, with the printout being foldable and stapled into a
  51. book-like form.
  52.  
  53.     There are many print utilities available to do this, among which are
  54. 4PRINT and LJBOOK.  By presenting the magazine in plain ASCII form, users can
  55. use these utilities (not bundled presently with the magazine--one has to
  56. obtain them independently).

  58.     LJBOOK is either freeware or shareware (it's hard to tell by his license
  59. wording) by Vernon D. Buerg, Compuserve ID: 7007,1212, 707-778-8728 fax, 139
  60. White Oak Circle, Petaluma CA 94952.  Buerg has a great file reading program
  61. too, called LIST.COM, which you can use instead of the accompanying SEE.EXE.

  63.     4PRINT is apparently shareware, but required to be licensed in a
  64. commercial environment (LJBOOK is too, I believe) by Korenthal Associates,
  65. Inc., Compuserve ID: 76004,2605, 212-242-2599 fax, 511 Ave. of the Americas
  66. #400, New York, New York 10011.

  68.     Accompanying the MS-DOS version of ShareDebate International, however, is
  69. a freeware MS-DOS file-reader program, SEE.EXE, that supports printing, but
  70. not in any fancy way.  Use this if you like or use fancier printing utilities
  71. elsewhere available--4PRINT or LJBOOK to name a few examples.

  73.     (In order to distribute SEE.EXE freely, the author of SEE requires one to
  74. distribute his advertisement file, AMAZE.TXT, which is also included.  I have
  75. not seen any of the products advertised in AMAZE.TXT and its accompaniment
  76. with this magazine is not to be construed as an endorsement in any manner.)
